The La Union Bridge, which connects the Colombian city of Puerto Santander to Boca del Grita in Venezuela, has reopened to traffic after seven years of allowing people to cross only on foot, coinciding with the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two South American countries. The opening of the way for vehicles is the fourth of its kind, which citizens living near the border say will now facilitate trade, especially the transport of health equipment and medicines from Colombia to Venezuela.
