People in the Spanish city of Barcelona vote in the Catalonia regional eletions where the socialist party, currently in power nationally in Madrid, are hoping to beat separtist party JxCat and its rival ERC. Last time around in 2021 the socialists won the most votes but failed to form a governing majority, so the separatist parties joined together to form a coalition. "It will be complicated, because here in Catalonia we are still in two distinct blocs; the pro-independence bloc and the constitutional bloc," says Jordi Bombí, a retiree and pro-independence voter.
