After Russian President Vladimir Putin moved to replace defence minister Sergei Shoigu in a major shake-up to Russia's military leadership, several Muscovites speaking to AFP say they welcome Shoigu's removal from his post more than two years into Russia's Ukraine offensive. "I think it's timely because this man was out of place," technician Alexander Yankov says, pointing to Shoigu's lack of military experience, whilst pensioner Nadezhda Kazakova says "it should have been done a long time ago."
