It's a "great shock (...), the community is in shock," says Rouen's rabbi, Chmouel Lubecki, after police officers shot dead a man armed with a knife who was trying to set fire to the synagogue in Rouen and threatened them, an act that caused "a great deal of damage" to the place of worship, according to the president of the local Jewish community.
