Description
Nicaraguan writer Sergio Ramirez, forced into exile in Spain by Daniel Ortega's government, predicts the "failure" of Nicaragua's "dictatorial family regime" and says he has an "open suitcase," hoping to return to his country. The 81-year-old Ramirez is in Panama for the literary festival "Central America Counts." The novelist served as vice-president from 1985 to 1990, during the first decade of Ortega's government following the triumph of the Sandinista revolution, which overthrew the Somoza family dictatorship in 1979.
