Description
"They are good people, and the good people during the war were those who helped the Jews in France". This is how Serge Klarsfeld, 88, sums up the electorate of the National Rally (RN), a movement that the famous Nazi hunter no longer sees as a danger. Although he still refuses to vote for the far-right party, the son of a deportee and critic of "worrying" anti-Semitism is more afraid of "that part of the Muslim population which sees itself as linked to fundamentalist Islamism" and the far-left "for supporting Israel's enemies". Serge and Beate Klarsfeld are about to be symbolically decorated in Berlin by the French President, on the occasion of an official visit to Germany. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
