Only a dozen pilgrims take part in the first day of this year's Jewish pilgrimage to the Ghriba synagogue in Djerba, Tunisia. Ceremonies have been reduced to a strict minimum this year amid heightened security concerns after a deadly attack last year and as the Israel-Hamas war rages in Gaza.
