Description
“Three Kilometers until the End of the World”, also in the running for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, received the Queer Palm on Friday evening, an alternative prize awarded each year in Cannes to a feature film addressing LGBTQI+ issues. The film by the Romanian director Emanuel Parvu shows the ravages of homophobia in a country where only the beauty of nature relieves the weight of traditions. "It also talks about patriarchy, feminism, not just homosexuality, there are many levels of reading. It's a film which unites something and which is also very mainstream" explains Hugo Bardin, a member of the jury who is more known under his drag queen name Paloma.
