"It's obviously satisfying to see this tower in use. There's been a lot of talk and a lot of concern about it, but at the end of the day we can see that it's a structure that was necessary for this competition," says chief organiser of the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, Tony Estanguet who was on the French Pacific island of Tahiti to visit contentious, three-story, aluminum surfing judges' tower that has been erected on the reef at Teahupo’o, the site of surfing in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
