Tim McKenna's "The millennium wave," an iconic photo showing Laird Hamilton surfing the Teahupo’o wave in 2000, propelled Tahiti's waves to global fame. McKenna, who still spends most of his time on the soon-to-be Olympic host wave, says "a beautiful surf photo is a photo that expresses something, that conveys emotion, something that brings the surfer's passion to life."
