To kick off her final week of campaigning for the European elections, Valerie Hayer, leader of the French ruling coalition's list for the EU Parliament contest, is in Le Havre, with the town's mayor, Edouard Philippe. Asked by journalists about her position in the polls, far behind Jordan Bardella's far-right National Rally (RN) list, the candidate says that things can still change: "If we take a step back, in 2019, the polls have been contradicted," she points out.
