Description
Hong Kong police stop and search pedestrians in the city's Causeway Bay district and take away a man with signs commemorating Beijing's 1989 deadly crackdown at Tiananmen Square, on the 35th anniversary of the event.
Hong Kong was once the sole place on Chinese soil where public commemoration was allowed, but the annual candlelight vigils, which used to draw tens of thousands on June 4 each year, have been banned since 2020 and the imposition of a national security law by Beijing. IMAGES
