Most of the cultural artefacts of Copenhagen's historic Old Stock Exchange was saved after a blaze destroyed half of the building on 16 April, with water-damaged paintings to be restored. "The good news is that we can repair them back to the state they were," says a conservator at the country's national museum as a selection of the 400 saved pieces were presented. About half the 170 paintings that are stored in a warehouse in a Copenhagen have water damages due to fire hoses. "We managed to save approximately 99 percent of the cultural heritage at the Old Stock Exchange," adds the CEO of the Danish Chamber of Commerce which owns the building and is set to rebuild it according to its original form.
