The remains of three murdered Indigenous women are believed to be buried in the dumpsite, and a 2023 government report concluded that a search of the Prairie Green landfill - demanded by activists and families of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIW) - was feasible and should be done.
