Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen arrives on foot at a polling station in Vienna to vote on the last day of European Parliament elections. "I believe that most people are sensible enough to see that it's useful to work together in a united Europe instead of retreating to 27 tiny states" he says. The bloc-wide vote comes with Europe facing a number of challenges, ranging from the ongoing war in Ukraine to the prospect of having to adapt to a new Donald Trump presidency in the US.
