Description
Images of the 54-kilometer (34 miles) Dominican border fence in the town of Elias Pina, which separates the Caribbean island from its much less prosperous neighboring Haiti. Since taking office in 2020, the government of recently-reelected Dominican President Luis Abinader has been building a 164-kilometer (102-mile) concrete wall along the border with Haiti.
Abinader, who campaigned on his tough policies on migration from Haiti, had more than 250,000 migrants deported in 2023. STOCKSHOTS
