On 24 February 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine, Daria Zymenko decided to seek shelter with her family in the countryside near Kyiv. A few days later, she was raped by Russian soldiers. "They took me to an abandoned house (...) and told me to undress. I realised that it wasn't going to be an interrogation but something else, sexual violence. It lasted two hours", says the 33-year-old illustrator and visual artist. Like her, some of the victims are urging the international community to become aware of the rapes committed in Ukraine, at a time when people are gradually speaking out about these crimes in that country.
