The new boss of Brazil's Petrobras promises the state-run company will be "fully aligned" with the policies of left-wing President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, including oil exploration in a controversial offshore basin near the mouth of the Amazon River. "It is essential to develop our exploratory frontiers, such as those on the equatorial margin and southern Brazil," says Magda Chambriard during her inauguration ceremony attended by President Lula.
