The French High Commissioner to New Caledonia, Louis Le Franc, announces that the general elections will take place in the French Pacific archipelago, but "under reinforced security". "We will take our responsibility to ensure that all the measures that need to be taken to guarantee the security of the polling stations are taken in the best possible conditions," he added at a press conference in Noumea.
