Description
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Labour leader Keir Starmer both visit the Potteries region of England’s East Midlands for campaign visits with a week to go until Britain's general election. Sunak acknowledges that “people are frustrated with me and our party” but says he believes a Labour government would be “very damaging for our country.” Keir Starmer meanwhile says that following allegations of wrongdoing involving political betting by ministers and other politicians, it’s time to “turn a page, and usher in a sort of reset for politics and for our country.” Sunak also visits the Derby plant of Alstom, as news was recently announced that new work in the first half of 2025 will save the site. A small group of pro-Palestinian protesters gather outside Keir Starmer’s second event, demonstrating against what they call Labour’s support for Israel’s “genocide” in Gaza. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
