A 43-year-old American lawyer is suing the Chilean state for having been abducted at birth and irregularly given up for adoption to a family in the United States, which he only found out about a year ago. Jimmy Lippert Thyden's story is one of more than 50,000 estimated cases of illegal adoptions that occurred in Chile between 1950 and 1990, many of whom were taken in by families abroad.
