Description
The "Water Village" officially opens its doors in Melle, near Sainte-Soline, where thousands of people opposed to 'mega-basins' are expected until the end of the week for a weekend of demonstrations in the Poitou region. In March 2023, the construction of a disputed water reservoir at Sainte-Soline led to violent clashes between radical activists and the police during a protest which was banned at the time.
