A conference on migration kicks off in the Libyan capital Tripoli in the presence of leaders and representatives of 28 Mediterranean and African countries, with the aim of establishing a "strategic" framework to tackle the crisis of illegal immigration. In attendance at the conference, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni calls for a "multilateral approach" to combating human trafficking, "one of the most powerful criminal networks in the world".
