French police seize weapons as thousands gather to protest large water reservoirs in Melle, in the country's western Deux-Sevres department. Samuel Dubuis, commander of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, says hundreds of members of the French anarchist group Black Bloc are on site, while 10% of participants are known to authorities for particularly violent activism or involvement in previous protests.
