Description
In the Nicolas Maduro neighborhood, residents will vote for the opposition in the Venezuelan elections on July 28. Founded 17 years ago on occupied land in the state of Barinas, the home of the late socialist leader Hugo Chavez, this former stronghold of the ruling party has already turned its back on Maduro. When people settled there, they named it Nicolas Maduro in the hope of seeing a "change in their way of life," explains resident Gabriel Martinez, but the government "has not shown up here yet."
