"It really exceeded my expectations," says a 28-year-old Mexican tourist about his trip to Costa Rica. The Central American country recorded a 14.5 % increase in tourism in the first half of this year compared to the same period in 2023, according to the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT). 92% of visitors arrive in the country by air, mainly from the United States and Canada.
