Description
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier attends a ceremony and visits a monument to commemorate the Wola massacre with his Polish counterpart during the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising. The armed insurgency against occupying Nazi German forces broke out on August 1, 1944, and lasted for two months before it was crushed. Polish President Andrzej Duda hails the moment in Warsaw as "symbolic" as Steinmeier "kneels before the cross commemorating the victims and those murdered." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
