Description
Milo Comerford, Director of Policy and Research, Counter-Extremism at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, says that disinformation was a "major catalyst" for the violence seen on the streets across the UK following a recent knife attack, which killed three children in northern England's Southport. "No amount of fact-checking or correction was likely to be able to sort of bring down the heat on some of these protests," says the analyst, stating that facts were unlikely to change the attitudes of the far-right protesters.
