Description
Tending to her beehives in Somerset, southwest England, Lynne Ingram cuts a peaceful figure, but the master beekeeper has recently found herself coming up against an evolving foe: honey fraud. With beekeepers going out of business, Ingram -- alongside various organisations -- is calling on the UK government to take action, pointing at recently-adopted EU rules as an example. "They need to align themselves," she says, describing the EU's new rules on labelling and honey tracing as "fantastic work". While waiting for action, some British beekeepers have joined forces with Aston University laboratory in Birmingham to help detect fraudulent products. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
