Description
In Cuba’s tobacco-growing municipality of Cabaiguan, 380 kilometers east of Havana, the sweet-scented aroma of cedar fills the "Laminados Concepcion" workshop. 56-year-old entrepreneur Alexis Concepcion runs a private company that sells fine cedar sheets to wrap and preserve the country’s famous cigars. "We created the first wood veneer lathe" with "different mechanisms from other machines and obsolete technologies," explains Concepcion. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
