Supporters of Carles Puigdemont, the former leader of Catalonia who fled Spain over his role in a failed 2017 independence bid for the wealthy region, are welcoming him back, even if some express fear over his imminent arrest. "It is a risky bet", says university student Marçal Segarra, "but on the other hand, I think that one day he had to come back, they see that embezzlement does not fall under the amnesty law and unfortunately, it had to happen."
