Description
The Heritage of Korean Independence (HKI), an association of independence fighters and their descendants, holds a Liberation Day ceremony to mark the 79th anniversary of the end of World War II and the end of Japan's occupation of the Korean Peninsula from 1910 to 1945.
HKI boycotted the ceremony held by the government, to protest against the appointment of the new Independence Hall of Korea president, Kim Hyoung-suk, who has been accused of expressing views favourable towards Japan. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
