Democratic party supporters and delegates compare the enthusiasm around Kamala Harris' candidacy to the excitement they felt during Barack Obama's campaign in 2008, just before he became the first African-American president of the USA.
"Everyone was so excited when President Obama was running and now they're excited again. It is just wonderful," Alabama delegate Carolyn Culpepper tells AFP at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
