In Beirut's largest public hospital, nurses are busy sharpening life-saving skills as the spectre of full-out war looms over Lebanon, 10 months into intensifying cross-border fire between Hezbollah and Israel over the Gaza war. "Our job is to help others. I will not deprive people of this (help, ed.) because of fear. It's true that the situation is difficult, but with my experience, I may be able to save many people," says 25-year-old nurse Mohamed Marwan Hakla, one of about a dozen nurses undergoing training.
