Description
Almost three weeks into a Ukrainian incursion into Russia’s Kursk region, which has seen dozens of villages occupied and over 133,000 flee, residents of the city of Kursk — still at least 75 km from the frontline — express a mixture of anxiety and resilience at their ‘new normal’. "The first times of course it was disturbing," says Egor Titov, an 18-year-old shop worker, referring to the several daily air raid sirens throughout the city. "But now that it has been ringing for so long it doesn't cause much concern." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
