Angry depositors vandalise bank facades and burn tyres in Beirut's northeastern suburbs to demand the return of their deposits. Lebanon has been mired since 2019 in an economic crisis, which the World Bank has dubbed one of the worst in modern history, with depositors locked out of their savings by cash-strapped banks for nearly five years.
