Description
The "Mohawk Mothers," Kahentinetha and Kwetiio, are pursuing a legal case against McGill University and the Quebec government to halt a multi-million-dollar construction project. Their aim is to search for missing Indigenous children who were allegedly subjected to experiments in Montreal during the 1950s and 1960s at the Allan Memorial Institute, as part of a secret program partially funded by the CIA, and at the Royal Victoria Hospital.
Kahentinetha and Kwetiio are two of the four Kahnistensera — a Mohawk term that signifies the living relationship between a mother and her children, and is loosely translated into English as "Mohawk Mothers." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES ARRANGED IN SEQUENCES
