Description
Poland marks the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War with a ceremony in Wielun. The Polish town was one of the first places to be bombed by the Nazis on the 1st September, 1939. Polish President Andrzej Duda says that Poland has learnt its lesson from the war and can no longer afford to be defenceless when next to an imperialist neighbour, in reference to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Duda also claims that the issue of German war reparations to Poland is "not yet settled and never has been". IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
