Description
In Greece, Lake Mornos's water levels have receded significantly in the past two years due to mild winters, so much so that the sunken village of Kallio has resurfaced. The water levels of one of Athens' main water supplies, located around 200 kilometres (125 miles) west of the Greek capital, have "dropped alarmingly", says Anastasis Papageorgiou, who lives close to the lake. "We all have to be consistent and careful with water usage," he adds, as levels were down 30 percent in July from the same period last year. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
