"An innocent man being convicted is never good news," says Tariq Ramadan's lawyer, Yael Hayat, after the Islamic scholar was convicted of rape by a Geneva appeals court and sentenced to prison. "There is doubt in this case, and that doubt should obviously have benefited Tariq Ramadan," adds Hayat in Geneva.
