Description
As Mexico becomes the first country in the world to allow voters to elect judges at all levels, some citizens in the capital fear it is a "setback for all remaining institutions" and believe lawmakers have "turned a deaf ear" to calls against outgoing President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador's controversial judicial proposals, which were approved by the Senate. "It is a disappointment and a sadness for the country," says 22-year-old student Abril Celis. "Many people before me had to build this, and unfortunately I will have to build it again in the future," she adds. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES [TO COMPLETE 36FZ3LB_EN]
