"It's a quiet little village, quite friendly. I never thought it would happen here. What's more, you're shocked when you see the word Mazan on television," says Lina Blazy, a retired resident of this medieval village in the Vaucluse. Previously known for its proximity to Mont Ventoux, the village of 6,000 inhabitants has been rocked, since the beginning of September, by the trial of Dominique Pelicot, who stands accused of recruiting dozens of strangers to rape his wife after he had drugged her into a state of unconsciousness.
