In France, plastic cups, straws and forks have all but disappeared, but one item is holding out: the bag. Although single-use plastic bags have been banned since 2016, reusable bags (made from slightly thicker plastic), 'bio-sourced' bags and compostable bags are still available and very much a part of our everyday lives.
