French researcher Laurent Vinatier, accused of violating Russia's "foreign agent" law is on trial in Moscow amid simmering tensions with Paris over Ukraine. Vinatier, who worked on conflict mediation for a Swiss NGO and was arrested in June, appears behind bars in a defendant's box at Moscow's Zamoskvoretsky court. He faces up to five years in prison.
