Description
The four-member comedy troupe Bizonto has been filling seats and triggering chuckles with its daring satires on Ugandan politics. Their latest offering at a theatre in the capital Kampala, recounts the misadventures in a fictional village called Buyongono, ruled by an ageing leader and suffering from a dire lack of basic services and sky-high taxes. The parallels with real-life in the east African nation ruled for almost four decades by 80-year-old Yoweri Museveni - are not hard to spot. The group's name means "mentally unstable", which the four comedians chose in the hope it would provide some protection from the authorities. It did not. They've been jailed in the past but that hasn't stopped them from spreading their message. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES ARRANGED IN SEQUENCES
