Description
The Vatican announces its recognition of the shrine of Medjugorje in Bosnia-Herzegovina, where the faithful have gathered in their millions for more than 40 years, without commenting on the Virgin Mary's "alleged supernatural messages" delivered at the site. Speaking at a press conference to present a 17-page document approved by Pope Francis, Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez says the church wants to "conclude a long and complex history" around the shrine which has fuelled "a series of divergent opinions."
