Hundreds of people run on the Oktoberfest grounds in Munich to get the best tables under the tents of the city’s different breweries. The 189th edition of the world's largest beer festival, which runs till October 6, kicks off at midday local time, when, as per tradition, the city's mayor will tap the first keg of beer, fill the first one-litre glass and then 12 gunshots will ring out signalling that all of the festival tents can begin serving beer.
