Gray skies loom over Salina Cruz in Oaxaca state after Hurricane John strengthened to a Category 2 storm as it approaches Mexico's Pacific coast.
The US-based National Hurricane Center has warned that John's center is forecast to move inland along the coast of southern Mexico on Monday night or early Tuesday, bringing "damaging hurricane-force winds, life-threatening storm surge and flash flooding" in parts. IMAGES
