"He was a young man in the prime of life" says the mother of Wael Masha who was killed by Israeli forces an air strike, following his release from prison one year earlier in the West Bank city of Qalqilya. His journey was not unique: Masha is one of at least three Palestinians born in the Israeli-occupied West Bank who were arrested as teenagers, released during a brief truce in the Gaza war last November, then killed in Israeli military operations as violence has surged in the occupied territory.
