The CFTC and the CPME trade unions were received at Matignon, as Prime Minister Michel Barnier continues a series of discussions with trade union and employer organisations. The discussions were 'fairly constructive and open', according to CFTC trade union President Cyril Chabanier, who is 'waiting to see what happens next and what room for manoeuvre there is' and is calling for 'better spending'. 'Starting to talk about taxation when we are already the most taxed in Europe is the best way to stop what little growth we potentially have ahead of us', added CPME President François Asselin.
